The airline will ramp up its services from London Heathrow to the USA, introducing additional flights to both New York JFK and Boston.
Passengers are poised to benefit from the inclusion of the carrier’s latest and most advanced aircraft, the A330neo and A350-1000.
Virgin Atlantic is pleased to unveil its strategy to amplify capacity to its core locations in the USA, introducing more frequencies from London Heathrow to both New York JFK and Boston for the upcoming summer of 2024. These new services seamlessly complement the airline’s recent initiatives, including the expansion of Miami services from 11 flights per week to twice daily year-round, as well as the introduction of a new seasonal summer route from Manchester to Las Vegas.
In the upcoming summer, the airline is set to provide a record number of flights between London and New York, adding a seventh daily flight to JFK. Alongside its Joint Venture partner Delta, Virgin Atlantic will collectively offer ten daily services to the Big Apple, marking an 11% increase compared to the summer of 2023.
In another positive development for its East Coast operations, Virgin Atlantic will introduce a second daily flight to Boston. This move, in conjunction with Delta’s daily service, will result in Boston being served with three flights a day.
Passengers on both Virgin Atlantic departures will have the opportunity to fly on the airline’s cutting-edge aircraft, the A330-900neo and A350-1000, contributing to a 23% increase in Upper and Premium seats. Upper-Class travelers can indulge in the A330-900neo’s innovative Retreat Suite, featuring two spacious exclusive suites at the front of the Upper Class cabin. Meanwhile, those flying with Joint Venture partner Delta can enjoy its new and enhanced Delta One product.*
As part of Virgin Atlantic’s dedication to its USA heartland, the enhanced schedule will facilitate a record number of departures to the USA, averaging 27 daily departures to popular destinations such as Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa, and Washington DC.
The new services will also improve connectivity for customers, providing opportunities to connect to cities across the US and around the world via London Heathrow, including destinations like Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Johannesburg, and Shanghai, thanks to the partnership with Delta Air Lines.
Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We’re excited to announce additional flights to our heartland in the USA for summer 2024. By leveraging our state-of-the-art A350 and A339 aircraft, passengers can experience the epitome of travel with Virgin Atlantic. As we commit to operating the routes that our customers love, Boston and New York JFK, being pivotal for business and leisure travel, customers can rely on Virgin Atlantic to connect them to these popular destinations, offering more travel opportunities with our expanded services.”
