Delta Air Lines is set to revive a long-awaited route to the picturesque Caribbean island of Curaçao, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s expansion plans. Beginning on December 16, the carrier will offer direct flights from its major hub in Atlanta to the Dutch Caribbean paradise every Saturday. This renewed service marks Delta’s return to Curaçao after more than a decade since its last flight in 2010.
As the sole airline providing direct flights to Curaçao from Atlanta, Delta opens up access to this tropical destination for travelers from over 100 U.S. cities, thanks to convenient one-stop connections. The new route will be operated by a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering passengers the option of First Class, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seating.
The ABC islands, including Curaçao, are renowned for their stunning beauty and lie just above South America, basking below the hurricane belt. This strategic location makes Curaçao a sought-after destination for travelers seeking a tropical escape without the worry of weather disruptions.
Beyond Curaçao, Delta’s commitment to the Caribbean region is evident, with flights to other popular destinations like neighboring Aruba, Mexico’s San José del Cabo, and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
In a statement, Delta highlighted its dedication to the Latin America market, with this year’s holiday schedule offering a 20% increase in capacity compared to 2022. The airline plans to achieve this growth by boosting frequency to popular destinations such as Cancun, Nassau, Punta Cana, and San Juan. Additionally, Delta will introduce nonstop service to Cozumel from both Atlanta and Minneapolis.
The expansion doesn’t stop there. Delta is also partnering with LATAM Airlines to introduce new flights to Colombia. Travelers can look forward to daily service between Miami and Medellín on LATAM, as well as a route from Atlanta to Cartagena.
Closer to home, Delta is enriching its service from Las Vegas by introducing new routes to and from Sacramento, San Diego, and Austin, scheduled to commence in October.
Delta’s commitment to enhancing travel experiences and expanding its global network is evident in these strategic additions to its flight offerings. The return of direct flights to Curaçao is undoubtedly an exciting development for travelers seeking a taste of Caribbean paradise with Delta’s renowned hospitality and service.
